We Are Making Great Strides With Our Packaging Improvements

We are reducing our impact on the environment and helping customers with their own sustainability goals...

We are excited to have new packaging for our lubricant containers, made from a minimum of 30% recycled materials. This is another significant achievement for us, in an industry where traditional lubricants are packaged using plastic non-recycled containers.

We’ve introduced many different incentives to help reduce our impact on the environment in this area. We all understand the need to reduce our plastic usage, in a culture where we often take, make, and dispose of plastic. Although plastics have an important part to play in packaging, the first steps are to capture the value of plastic materials – keeping plastic in the economy and out of the oceans.

National campaign “The UK Plastics Pact” is bringing together businesses from across the entire plastics value chain to tackle plastic waste. The Pact’s aims include:

Eliminate problematic or unnecessary single-use packaging through redesign, innovation or alternative (reuse) delivery model.
100% of plastics packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
70% of plastics packaging effectively recycled or composted.
30% average recycled content across all plastic packaging.

We are delighted that our new packaging meets the aims above, adding to the measures we have already taken and forms the achievement of just one of our environmental objectives for 2021.

Other examples of how we’ve adopted a ‘greener’ approach within our business for packaging, includes offering:

A recycling scheme for 200 litre metal barrels
Using reconditioned pallets

Lubricant Storage Tanks - The cleanest solution for workshops...

Oil needs to be kept safe and stored properly, not only because its the law, but because it is the right thing to do for the environment and for safe working conditions.

As part of our service, we supply a range of specialist bulk storage tanks for workshops. We can help advise on the best way to install the tanks - which for standard sizes are free of charge! Your lubricants are filled up in the colour coded tanks as required, and the tanks have sight gauges, taps or pumps and come labelled with the different product names and their application.

Simple, clean and easy to use, these tanks help keep your working space ship-shape, avoid spills from containers, help avoid oil contamination and improves the environment by using less packaging. They also provide important health & safety requirements for lubricant storage.

BENEFITS OF BULK STORAGE TANKS

Keeps workshops clean and tidy
Helps the environment by using less container packaging
Creates more space in workshops and garages
Easy to distinguish different lubricants for various uses
Helps avoid oil spills and contamination
Long lasting storage solution - with good maintenance these will last up to 50 years.

If you have any questions about the storage of your oil or would like to talk to someone about installing Bulk Storage Tanks or discuss any of our recycling schemes then please call your local depot and we will be happy to help.
