LUBRICANTS |
Since the Treaty of Rome was signed the European Union has been committed to ensuring that
fair and free competition is enjoyed by Customers with regard to their choice of Lubricants. It was recognised that certain Manufacturers were denying warranty claims if their own brand
of Lubricant was not used, even if the substitute was a superior specification. This allowed them to "hold to ransom" the Buyers of their equipment and unfairly excluded independant Lubricant Manufacturers.
The Treaty of Rome outlawed this practice allowing both Dealerships and End Users free to source their lubricants on old fashioned values of price, specification and service.
Witham Oil & Paint Ltd fully support this action and have taken an active part in shaping the future of the lubricants industry by raising Customer awareness on the issue and by having direct representation
on the U.E.I.L. Competitions Commitee who are charged with ensuring that restrictive practices are not allowed to continue. |
