We’re launching new packaging made from 30% recycled materials

We take a look at how we are reducing our impact on the environment and helping customers with their own sustainability goals…

We are excited to be introducing new packaging for our 1 litre, 5 litre and 25 litre lubricant containers, made from 30% recycled materials. This is another  significant achievement for us, in an industry where traditional lubricants are packaged using plastic non-recycled containers.

We’ve introduced many different incentives to help reduce our impact on the environment in this area. We all understand the need to reduce our plastic usage, in a culture where we often take, make, and dispose of plastic. Although plastics have an important part to play in packaging, the first steps are to capture the value of plastic materials – keeping plastic in the economy and out of the oceans.

National campaign “The UK Plastics Pact” is bringing together businesses from across the entire plastics value chain to tackle plastic waste. The Pact’s aims include:

  • Eliminate problematic or unnecessary single-use packaging through redesign, innovation or alternative (reuse) delivery model.
  • 100% of plastics packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
  • 70% of plastics packaging effectively recycled or composted.
  • 30% average recycled content across all plastic packaging.

We are delighted that our new packaging meets the aims above, adding to the measures we have already taken and forms the achievement of just one of our environmental objectives for 2021.

Other examples of how we’ve adopted a ‘greener’ approach
within our business for packaging, includes offering:

  • A recycling scheme for 200 litre metal barrels
  • Using reconditioned pallets
  • Measuring the amount of packaging used with our specialised packaging waste dashboard
  • Bulk storage tank solutions
  • Advice on achieving better efficiencies and safe, effective storage solutions whatever the industry.
