PROUD TO SUPPORT OUR CUSTOMER DAVID TAYLOR’S CYCLING CHALLENGE FOR CANCER

One of our farming customers from Rowston, Lincolnshire has completed a gruelling cycling challenge in aid of Myeloma UK recently, having been sadly diagnosed with the disease himself.
David Taylor, 57, was diagnosed with the incurable bone marrow cancer on January 11, 2023, after complaining of neck, arm and shoulder pain. After receiving chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant at Nottingham City Hospital, he spent 52 days in Boston Pilgrim Hospital recovering. He is now post-treatment and on maintenance drugs in remission.
He decided to give something back and do a charity challenge – cycling at least 10 miles a day for 52 days (to mirror the time he spent in hospital) on January 11, a year after he was diagnosed. Facing cold, rain and wind, he has averaged 22 miles a day, peaking at 57 miles on a trip to the Wolds.
We were proud to sponsor David (and provide a trusty Witham bobble hat to keep him warm!), who completed the challenge in early March and has raised more than £5,000 for Myeloma UK – a fantastic effort – WELL DONE DAVID!
