We’re planting trees for the Queen’s Green Canopy

To mark Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, a new initiative has been launched called ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy’, encouraging individuals, groups and businesses to plant a tree for the Jubilee.

Everyone from individuals to cities, schools and companies are being encouraged to play their part to enhance the environment by planting trees from October this year, when the tree planting season begins, through to the end of the Jubilee year in 2022.

With a focus on planting sustainably, the Queen’s Green Canopy aims to create a legacy in honour of the Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will of course also benefit our future generations.

As well as inviting the planting of these new trees, the Queen’s Green Canopy will dedicate a network of 70 ancient woodlands across the United Kingdom, as well as identifying 70 ancient trees to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.

We’re delighted to be getting involved with the scheme, and plan to plant a tree to mark the occasion at each of our three sites in Lincoln, Soham and Lowestoft, as well as looking at locations to plant 100 trees to mark our 100^th anniversary of business.
