‘PUNDA’ THE TRACTOR GIVEN A WOCO REFRESH IN COMMUNITY PROJECT

We were delighted to see the latest pictures from the Tanzanian community project showing their tractor which had been freshly painted in our Woco paint.

Last year, a customer of ours kindly donated a vintage Fergusson tractor to the team in Kisampa, a conservation area in Tanzania, Africa.  They named the tractor “Punda” – which means donkey in Swahili – and it has been hard at work carting sand, thatching grass, water, mowing and grading roads.

The project is focused on protecting the beautiful local area and its wildlife from poachers as well as helping 5 local villages and their inhabitants, build a sustainable community, schools and infrastructure to support them with local farming techniques and education projects.

We were delighted to help with the project, and donate our Woco paint and Qualube oils and greases to help with the tractor’s ongoing maintenance.

Rob Barbour the Project Leader at Kisampa wrote to us to say “Thanks so much for your contribution to this project.  This tractor and her equipment has made an immense impact on our little remote community.  You can see by everyone’s faces- how proud they are.”

We wrote about the start of our involvement in this project last year – click here to read the article
