We are incredibly proud to continue our support for Lucy Lavers, a remarkable veteran of the Dunkirk Little Ships, lovingly restored by the dedicated team at Rescue Wooden Boats.

We’re delighted to play a small part in her ongoing preservation by donating our high-quality WOCO Marine Gloss paint to help keep this historic vessel in excellent condition whilst on the high seas of north Norfolk!

Built in 1939 for the Aldeburgh Lifeboat Station, Lucy Lavers’ shallow draft proved invaluable during her first crucial service: the Dunkirk Rescue Operation of 1940. This brave little ship played a vital role in the dramatic evacuation of Allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk, a pivotal moment in World War II history.

After years of dedicated service as a relief lifeboat, Lucy Lavers found a new purpose under the care of Rescue Wooden Boats. Their meticulous restoration efforts culminated in her triumphant return to Dunkirk in 2015 for the 75th anniversary of the evacuation, a truly poignant moment.

This year marks another significant milestone for Lucy Lavers: her 10th anniversary in Wells Harbour, the charming working fishing port on the north Norfolk coast where she now resides. It’s a testament to the dedication of Rescue Wooden Boats and the enduring spirit of this Little Ship.

She can now be booked or chartered for trips this year from Wells-next-the-Sea, north Norfolk from April – October. Find out more and book your trip on the Rescue Wooden Boats website:
