LOWESTOFT BRIDGE RESTORED WITH WITHAM WOCO PAINT

We were delighted to supply the paint for the restoration of the Ravine Bridge in Lowestoft.
The Bridge is a listed structure and was originally opened in 1887. It has been under a restoration programme over the past 2 years. The footbridge was subject to substantial decay and corrosion and a large number of repairs had to take place. One of our Cambridgeshire customers, Gunite Eastern, part of the Gunite Group, specialise in the restoration of concrete, brick and stone structures, and were the chosen contractor to fulfil the project.
Our specialist paint team worked closely with the Gunite team to ensure the paints recommended for the various applications would more than meet the required specification. Application of our Woco 608 2 Pack Primer and Woco 451 2 Pack Polyurethane Topcoat was applied under cover throughout the winter, the aim was to produce a coating to preserve and protect the bridge within a challenging east coastal environment.
Witham Technical Manager Ralph Godbold commented:
We are immensely proud to have played a part in the preservation of the bridge in my home town of Lowestoft. It’s been great working with the team at Gunite to ensure the bridge looks good for years to come.
