Proud to Support Lucy Lavers

Built by Groves and Gutteridge on the Isle of Wight in 1939, Lucy Lavers was completed in 1940 for Aldeburgh Lifeboat Station, in time to play a valuable role in the Dunkirk Rescue Operation of World War ll.
After a long service as a RNLI Lifeboat Lucy unfortunately fell into a state of disrepair until she was rescued by Dunkirk Little Ship Restoration Trust and kindly donated to the charity Rescue Wooden Boats. Their aim was to restore Lucy to her former glory and take her back to Dunkirk once completed, re-tracing her route of the 1940 rescue operation.

Witham Group is proud to have supported the restoration of Lucy Lavers through the donation of specialist paints and coatings. We’re watching avidly as Lucy’s historic return to Dunkirk gets underway. Our Group Managing Director had the pleasure of joining the voyage aboard Lucy Lavers on May 14th 2015 between Aldeburgh and Levington. Below are some pictures taken from on board Lucy Lavers en route.
