As environmental concerns grow, the regulation of packaging waste has become a critical aspect of corporate responsibility.

To ensure our company aligns with global sustainability goals, we are ensuring that all Witham employees understand the key principles behind Packaging Waste Regulation and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

Packaging Waste Regulation refers to laws and guidelines designed to minimise the environmental impact of our packaging materials. These regulations generally aim to reduce waste, encourage recycling, and promote the use of sustainable materials. Witham Group are required to manage the entire life cycle of our packaging, from production and distribution to disposal and recycling.

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a policy approach that holds us accountable for the environmental impact of our products throughout the product life cycle.

Adhering to Packaging Waste Regulations and EPR policies is not just about compliance, it’s about demonstrating our commitment to sustainability. By taking responsibility for our packaging, we can reduce waste, lower our environmental footprint, and meet the expectations of our customers and regulators.

Whilst we have been adhering to the Packaging Waste Regulations for several years, the Extended Producer Responsibility is a fairly new legislation that we are adapting our processes towards to ensure both our customers, and Witham Group remain compliant.
