Witham fundraise for Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in joint 100-year Anniversary

Employees, customers and suppliers from the Witham Group, have been fundraising for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award charity as the company celebrated its 100^th year anniversary in what was also HRH, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Centenary year.

The lubricant and paint manufacturer, who hold a Royal Warrant, held its Anniversary Ball in November, with prizes auctioned off to the value of £15,000 and DofE was one of four charities chosen by Witham Group’s employees.

This brings the total raised over the years during Witham Group’s long history to over £100,000 for hundreds of worthy causes.  Witham Group have a long tradition of putting something back with their charitable events, from lawnmower races to driving challenges, and coffee mornings to their flagship annual ball. Alongside this, they regularly sponsor customers and projects with their oil and paint products, as well as volunteering on a variety of local committees, charities and societies.

Nigel R Bottom, Managing Director of the Witham Group said, “This is an incredible amount to raise in such a milestone year for us. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a remarkable organisation that makes a real difference to young people all over the world and we were delighted to make this donation.

We certainly celebrated our 100^th year in style at our Anniversary Ball last year and again must offer thanks to the venue and everyone involved in the evening. Here’s to another 100 years!”

“Donations like this will help us reach more young people, giving them the chance to develop new skills, discover new passions and build life-long confidence, resilience, and self-belief.”
