Witham Group wins Environmental Award

We are delighted and very proud to win another award for our environmental efforts.  In an initiative run by Soham Town Council – the ‘Seen to be Green’ award was presented to Witham Group to give recognition to a local business that has taken steps towards improving their impact on the environment.

At a recent Soham Annual Town Meeting, Witham Group were awarded the prize for our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and our environmental impact.  Soham Town Council explained further why Witham was chosen as the winner:

“They have taken several admirable environmental measures, from reducing the use of paper in their office by moving to electronic invoicing, to introducing an innovative new system of blending lubricant which substantially reduces the use of energy.  They have also managed to re-engineer the types of materials used in their lubricants which means that less lithium is used.  In addition to all this, they are also going out and talking to others to help them do similar.”

Tom Reader Associate Operations Director at Witham’s  Soham depot, received the award from Mayor David Woricker and we donated the prize money, plus a further £150.00, back to the Council to use on a ‘green’ project within the town.
