Witham Motorsport Lubricates Speedworks Championship Ambitions in BTCC

Witham Motorsport is thrilled to announce the continuation of its successful partnership with British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) powerhouse Speedworks Motorsport as the team gears up for the 2025 season. Speedworks Motorsport, showcasing a striking new black livery on its quartet of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK contenders, will once again benefit from Witham Motorsport’s comprehensive range of high-performance products.
Under this renewed agreement, Witham Motorsport will continue to supply Speedworks Motorsport’s workshops and vehicles with essential lubricants, paints, coatings, and cleaning solutions. This ongoing support plays a crucial role in maintaining the peak performance and reliability of the team’s British-built Corolla race cars.
Entering its fourteenth season for Speedworks Motorsport in the fiercely competitive BTCC, the Speedworks-engineered Corolla boasts an impressive track record, having secured no fewer than 47 podium finishes, including a remarkable 17 victories – five of which were clinched in the 2024 season alone.
Building on a rigorous winter development program, Speedworks Motorsport enters the 2025 campaign with high expectations, further bolstered by a formidable driver line-up piloting their four Japanese ‘hot hatches’. The team welcomes back three-time champion Gordon Shedden, a legend of the series who currently holds fifth place on the all-time BTCC race-winners list and stands as the most successful active driver. Shedden will be joined by the reigning Independents’ Trophy champion Árón Taylor-Smith, alongside the highly promising talents of Ronan Pearson and James Dorlin.
The enduring strength of the partnership between Witham Motorsport and Speedworks Motorsport was recently celebrated as they marked a significant milestone: a decade of collaborative success.
Reflecting on this milestone, Christian Dick, Team Principal of Speedworks Motorsport and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK, commented: “Our relationship with Witham Motorsport has grown immensely over the past decade. What started as an oil supply deal has now blossomed into a full technical partnership. The expertise and products they provide have been crucial to the performance and reliability of our cars, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration to keep improving across all areas of our racing activities.”
Nigel Bottom, Managing Director of Witham Group, echoed this sentiment, stating: “Witham Motorsport is immensely proud to have played a part in Speedworks Motorsport’s remarkable journey over the last decade. They are an exceptional team with a well-deserved reputation for excellence across various motorsport disciplines. We look forward to supporting their continued pursuit of victory in the BTCC.”
The thrilling 30-race BTCC season will commence at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK’s home circuit, Donington Park in Leicestershire, on the weekend of April 26th and 27th. Fans can catch all the high-octane action live and in high definition on ITV channels throughout the season.
