Prolan gets top review in Tractor & Machinery Magazine

We were proud to see our Prolan range of protective, environmentally sensitive lubricants, receive a great review in Tractor and Machinery Magazine recently.  The May issue of the tractor enthusiasts magazine featured a review of three products from the Prolan range:

Prolan Anti Seize Grease –  an incredibly long-lasting multi-purpose grease, ideal for all rust protection jobs that saves time and money on multiple re-applications.

Prolan Heavy Grade Lubricant –  a long-lasting multi-purpose general workshop lubricant which can be sprayed on parts to protect from corrosion.

Prolan Medium Grade Lubricant – a reliable, all round use, medium grade liquid lubricant, ideal for all rust protection jobs.

The reviewer used the products for various applications and commented that “All three products were clean, easy to use, and have the bonus of being kind to the environment.”

Prolan Lubricants Review

“The first of our three products was the Heavy grade lubricant, in 400ml aerosol form. It’s available in one-litre, five-litre, and 25-litre containers, but we found the aerosol particularly useful, as it’s convenient and eliminates mess.

It’s ideal for all rust protection jobs as a general workshop lubricant, but as it’s certified for the food grade industry you can use it as a household lubricant too – it’s non-toxic and non-carcinogenic and therefore ideal for sensitive applications.

We liked it for general greasing of threads, such as top links, implement adjusters and the like, but the list of uses is endless. It smells nice too, despite the definite hint of sheep!

Our second product was the Medium grade version of the lubricant which is, perhaps, more of a universal product. We used it where we’d normally apply WD-40, but found it to be particularly effective for drilling, cutting, and machining operations. Like the Heavy grade product, it can be used for almost anything – on numerous materials.

The final Prolan product we put to the test was Natural anti-seize grease. This is available in 100ml, 500ml, and four-litre tubs, and which you choose depends on your intended application. Grease is fundamental for ensuring the longevity of agricultural machinery and so it’s a shame that Witham doesn’t offer a 400g ‘cartridge’, like its Qualube range, but it can be applied to threads and the like with an applicator, gloved finger, or something similar.

We found the 100ml tube to be particularly useful for coating battery terminals and other electrical connections, but it is said to be particularly good on stainless steel threads, metal, and rubber – where it protects from corrosion caused by moisture, acid, and salt.

All three products were clean, easy to use, and have the bonus of being kind to the environment. We can’t comment on their longevity, but first impressions are good!”
